MCD Systems was founded in 2017 by technologist Lyle McCalmont to focus on building digital products that are practical, impactful and genuinely valuable to the people who use them. With a background in development and a strong interest in how technology can drive meaningful change, the business was created to offer a more thoughtful, outcomes-focused approach to digital transformation.
Since then, MCD has grown into a trusted partner for organisations across the UK. The mission remains the same. To create digital solutions that are clear, effective and built with care, combining technical expertise with real business understanding to deliver tangible results.

Lyle is the founder of MCD Systems and leads the business with over two decades of experience in digital consultancy and delivery. He has overseen large-scale transformation projects for organisations including British Airways, IKEA and Sage, and now focuses on building robust, user-focused platforms across transport, compliance and digital operations. At MCD, Lyle combines technical insight with a clear commercial approach, shaping strategy and ensuring the work delivers real impact.
Mark Hebron is a Senior Engineer at MCD Systems, bringing over 20 years of experience in enterprise software development. He spent six years as Lead Developer at Growth Capital Ventures, building fintech and investment platforms, and has delivered large-scale systems for clients including British Airways, Maven Investor Partners, The British Library and Sage. At MCD, Mark focuses on backend architecture and API development, with deep expertise across the full .NET stack and enterprise integration.
Max is a software engineer at MCD Systems, specialising in front-end development, user experience and applied AI. He works across web and mobile platforms using modern frameworks such as React and Next.js, and played a key role in the company's transition to serverless architecture. Max also leads MCD's work in AI implementation, developing tools that enhance search, support decision-making and improve access to complex information. His focus is on building interfaces and experiences that are clear, accessible and effective in the real world.
Megan is a full product designer at MCD Systems, shaping product development across the business through user experience design, design systems and creative direction, with experience spanning health, ecommerce and professional services. She leads the full design lifecycle, from user research and wireframing through to prototyping, usability testing and high-fidelity UI delivery, and builds the component-driven design systems that keep MCD's products consistent at scale.
